Family

I gave a talk in Sacrament meeting Sunday in church, and it was on families. As I was thinking, I have decided that I have a family away from home down here at SUU and that I am so grateful for all of them. I have spent so much time with my family down here this weekend and wanted to show it to the world!!!! (or the five people that read my blog.)

Well, I'll start with my amazing camping trip with the Attache's on Friday night! We left around 4 on Friday afternoon and made our way down to Hurricnnne (notice, no "a") to a random campsite, where we set up camp and then went on a mini-hike just around our campsite. We then made hot dogs, s'mores, and told ghost stories, talked to the cows, peed in the dirt like real campers, and "gossiped" all night long.

We woke up bright and early to head out to our hike. We hiked a "trail" called 3 waterfalls. This was such a great experience! I felt like I got even closer to all the people who were there. We hiked and climbed and slid like the children in nature we were. The hike was beautiful and I feel horrible that this was the first and only one I went on my freshman year in SOUTHERN UTAH, the place known for beautiful hikes!!! Then we made our way home and enjoyed a tasty dinner at the Pizza Factory. Me being the Elementary Education Major that I am, quickly made awards for everyone that came so they remembered something specific about the trip.
On Sunday, I gave my talk very first in Sacrament, and I was shaking the whole time, but it went very very well and I got a lot of compliments on it. I got to finally wear my Easter dress that my mom sent to me. I looked great. :) After church, everyone was out enjoying the sun on the lovely, warm Sunday that it was. I went and laid out in the sun, wrote in my journal, read, and chatted with Abby, Lindsey and Kate. Then we went and ate and walked and played around campus, just enjoying the sunshine. After our floor meeting, Abby and I pulled the typical college student stunt of staying up until 3 in the morning (which is rare for us) hanging out in the Getaway with Nicholle, Kate, Kyle, Megyn, Aryn, Zach, and Jessi. It was so incredibly fun! It's like a quote I recently saw: "People never remember the nights that they got enough sleep."

I am going to miss weekends like this over the summer, but I know that there will be more to come next year because we are all going to stay friends! I'm so lucky to have met friends like these people this year, and I'm so grateful that most of them are coming back as RA's next year so you can play with all the floors in housing! Thanks everyone!

Holi Festival

This weekend I went back home to do a couple things. First on my list was a job interview. Now, this girl can say that she is a very proud employee of......
Be proud! I now have two jobs for the summer...so I'll be working my tail off this summer!

On Friday, I took my little sister to go see the movie that everyone was talking about this weekend....The Hunger Games. My review: super good! They followed the book so surprisingly well! It was somewhat hard to watch because the camera moved so much in the beginning that it made you kind of sick. It didn't surprise me that people started doing the "Team Gale" and "Team Peeta" thing. I have read all the books and have decided that I am "Team Neither" because Katniss is super selfish and deserves neither of the boys. I did find this picture that I loved because my roommate and I are in love with this word......
:)

Saturday was a great day! We went to the Holi Festival of Colors at the Hari Krisna temple in Spanish Fork. It was a day-long event because everyone and their dog has heard about it now and all decided to go at the same time we did. The freeway was full of a bunch of people in white shirts headed to get chalked up. There is only one problem with putting a whole bunch of super excited teenagers on the freeway all at the same time: car accidents! And boy, were there some scary ones! The traffic was super backed up! It took us about two hours just to get to the town. Then we walked two miles from our car to the temple. I deserve an award because I was the only person in the world that pulled off walking that far passed people who were throwing colors on the "virgins" and not get any color on me at all! Hoo-rah! But...as soon as I got to the temple....

Greg and I afterwards. Notice our pearly whites :)

Welcome Spring! 5 weeks left of school! Then it's summer! Hoooorrraaayyy!
